Stares is a poem that I wrote a couple years ago while I was going through a difficult time. It is very close to my heart and I wanted to share it with all of you. I hope you enjoy reading it and I would love to know what you guys think about it.
She sits staring at herself in the mirror
Looking closely like she does everyday
She closes her eyes
And imagines life without the pain
No teachers
No grades
No bullies
No whispers behind her back
No pity looks
The bottle of pills lay beside her
And she debates
Just like every other day
She tells herself no
She wants a future
But everyday it gets harder and harder
Everybody's got something to say
And each time she comes home
And imagines what it would be
To swallow the pills
And end her suffering
She sits and stares at the mirror
She closes her eyes
And imagines life the without the pain
This time they went to far
Nobody noticed the scars
Nobody noticed the hurt
The tears in her eyes
She was good at hiding that way
Everybody thought she was happy
Nobody would've guessed
The suffering of her mind
She sat staring at herself in the mirror
Looked closely like she did everyday
And imagines life without the pain
No crying herself to sleep every night
Because of things people say
It got harder and harder
She was losing strength
And she couldn't find a way to solve it
Nobody was listening
Nobody heard
So she took the only way out she knew
She took the bottle
And emptied it out
